About this Masterclass: Media/ Social Media

For as long as our EQUIP and INSPIRE sessions have run, our alumni have expressed interest in  knowing “MORE” about fronting the media, sharing their campaign message and advocating for their community using traditional media platforms.

That is why Women For Election joined forces with journalist Charlotte Mortlock and social media expert Roger Christie who will both share tips, advice and inside industry knowledge about how traditional and social media functions.

Charlotte will provide practical tips and help attendees gain a unique insight into how to present in front of traditional media. Whether it’s radio or a TV interview, this masterclass will  prepare you on how to liaise with journalists as a political candidate and get your message across succinctly while also controlling your voice and body language – even in adversarial environments.

Without a doubt, social media and political campaigning have become inseparable, with many constituents using social media to stay in touch with political discourse. Being able to expand your message and audience through social media as well as stay in touch with voters and public opinion is so important in today’s modern-day debate arena. Roger will guide participants on how to use social media effectively as a political candidate.
