PREFERENCES - With Ben Raue

Understanding how preferences work is essential to running a successful campaign - but it can often feel confusing and overwhelming.

Join Ben Raue, founder of The Tally Room and one of Australia’s leading election analysts, as he breaks down how preferences work in practice and what they mean for candidates at the local, state, and federal level.

In this session, Ben will:

  • Explain how preferences are distributed in different voting systems

  • Share practical insights on how candidates can approach preferences in their campaign strategy

  • Answer your questions to help demystify this critical part of the electoral process
