Curated by women for women. this Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition is an event platforming women at the forefront, from woman referees to our staff, to spectators, this event is exclusively for women.

Mat Queens is focusing on removing some of the barriers women face when it comes to competition, from things like - strict weight classes, feeling uncomfortable in male dominated spaces or competing in a hijab, we’ve created an event that takes away these barriers. This comp is all for the love of Jiu-Jitsu - the fun of competing and community! No pressure, no ego's, just sisterhood in action!

DOORS OPEN AT 8:15AM EVENT STARTS AT 9:00AM

FORMAT

Mat Queens will follow a Round Robin Pool format, competitors will get 3 to 4 matches in a division that fills up to 5 people.

IBJJF ruleset

WEIGH-INS:

Takes place on the day of the event

Brackets will be created on the day and matched by weight/ belt

HIJAB FRIENDLY (strictly no men!)

Children (boys up to age 7) are welcome to come and watch!
