Event description

Matariki at Tāwhaki Marae

Join us at Tāwhaki Marae to welcome the Māori New Year with a traditional hautapu ceremony at dawn. This special event will honour the rising of Matariki with karakia, kai, and kōrero, bringing whānau and community together in reflection, remembrance, and renewal. We also have the pleasure of announcing our Tātāriki Rangatira for 2026.
