Matariki Mauri Whenua

Pupuke Birdsong Project and Grow Forrest Hill welcome you and your whānau to join us for a special afternoon celebrating Matariki at Lyford Reserve. We'll plant natives by the stream, then take part in a seed sowing session, where we’ll prepare kai and native seedlings for seasons to come.

Give back to the whenua (land) and connect with your community as we honour Matariki - a time to reflect, reset, and prepare for the future.

Bring: gloves, water, weather-appropriate clothing

Spare gloves can be provided on a non-returnable basis. Please take them home and bring them with you at subsequent events.
