Artist as Fundraiser workshop + MATCH Lab 2025/26 information session

Aimed at independent artists, producers and small collectives this workshop is opportunity to learn about fundraising for your practice and projects as an artist or artist collective and the matched funding opportunity MATCH Lab.

MATCH Lab is a matched funding program for independent artists and collectives delivered by Creative Australia. It offers up to $10,000 in dollar-for-dollar matched funding for your creative project and attendance at a 2-day in-person fundraising clinic to help develop your skills in fundraising and increase your knowledge of philanthropy and business partnerships.

Applications for the next round of MATCH lab open on 18 June and close 5 August 2025.

Hannah Kothe, State Manager Development and Partnerships (SA/NT) will introduce what and how artists can fundraise for their work, exploring some foundational principles and practices of arts fundraising. She will also provide a briefing on the MATCH Lab program with advice on how to develop a competitive application.

This will be followed by a Q&A with two South Australian artists who participated in MATCH in 2024/2025, discussing their fundraising campaigns.

Hear reflections and gain insights from the experiences of:

Josh van Konkelenberg , composer and pianist

Charlaina Thompson, playwright, drama educator and theatre maker
