Matchbox Crankie Workshop with The Lantern Sisters
Description
In this 2 hour guided workshop, our special guest crankie artists, the magical Lantern Sisters - Katherine Fahey and Dan Van Allen from Baltimore, will lead you in making your very own miniature matchbox crankie. Learn the basics of how crankie boxes are designed, assembled, and operated, and get a feel for illustrating your own short story. Unwind! Re-wind! Stay for the rest of the Mortal Coil Kensington Crankie Festival’s activities with the Artist Mini Market and then the main performance including the Lantern Sisters in a line-up of stellar crankie artists starting at 7pm. This workshop is free with RSVP required. Groups of friends/families encouraged to share one participant slot. We highly recommend that folks get here for the full 2-hour workshop.
