Event description

The month of May marks Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month in Queensland, an annual initiative to raise community awareness of domestic and family violence and coercive control, and the support services available.

Join the MATE Bystander Team this MAY8 Day to learn what you can do to prevent domestic and family violence in your community.

MATE is a leadership program focused on the bystander in the prevention of violence and harmful behaviour. Based on best practice, we empower people to become proactive bystanders who have the tools and understanding to step in and address problematic behaviour, prevent violence against women, racism and discrimination and promote equality. We present participants with real-world scenarios that enable them to put the MATE bystander intervention framework into practice.
