Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
World-leading Suicide First Aid Training
ASIST is a 2-day, interactive face-to-face workshop designed to build practical skills in suicide first aid. Delivered by MATES in Construction, this globally recognised training is ideal for anyone aged 16 or over — no prior experience required.
Whether you're a professional, tradesperson, volunteer, or community member, ASIST empowers you to respond confidently and safely when someone may be at risk of suicide.
What You'll Learn
During the ASIST workshop, you will:
- Recognise when someone may be at risk of suicide 
- Learn and apply a suicide first aid model 
- Engage in open, direct conversations about suicide and safety 
- Explore how your own values and experiences impact your ability to help 
- Discover ways to support yourself in a helper role 
Workshop Details
- Dates: 2 full days (attendance on both days is required for certification) 
- Time: 8:30am – 4:30pm 
 (Please arrive by 8:00am on Day 1 for registration)
- Cost: $330 + GST 
- Dress Code: Smart casual 
- Catering: Morning tea and lunch provided (vegetarian option available) 
 If you have allergies or specific dietary needs, you may wish to bring your own
