Maths and Other Cultures Awareness Session

Do you want to learn more about the diverse mathematical traditions from other regions and cultures? This session will explore some methods various cultures adopted when tackling maths. Having a broader understanding of how other cultures approach maths problems can enhance your work with adults from different communities, cultures and backgrounds.

• Develop an awareness of maths from other cultures
• Explore the language and symbols of various counting systems from around the world
• Compare different multiplication methods from historical and cultural backgrounds
