Save the spiders! The Matriarchs of the Wheatbelt event is raising money for studies into the conservation and ecology of trapdoor spiders. Even if you are unable to attend the event, please consider donating to the efforts to conserve and learn more about these very special spiders. The funds are being donated to the Bookend Trust, creators of the award-winning Sixteen Legs documentary that thrust Tasmania's unique cave spiders into the spotlight. More about the Bookend Trust: "The Bookend Trust is the educational arm of the Pennicott Foundation, and undertakes charitable programs to inspire people of all ages and abilities to develop careers and interest in the environment, and to find positive solutions to environmental problems."
