THE LAUNCH
The official launch of a hub for research, education and impact in the disability space at Monash, the MATS (Monash Assistive Technology and Society) Centre is leading the development and adoption of life-changing technologies. Engaging with government, philanthropic and disability sector-Enterprise.
ABOUT THE CENTRE
The MATS Centre brings together more than 100 researchers and educators across Monash including the Faculty of IT’s Inclusive Technologies Research Lab and researchers from the Faculties of Arts, Education, Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Engineering, Business and the Monash School of Business and the Rehabilitation, Ageing and Independent Living Research Centre.

SPEAKERS
- Dr Meredith Prain, National Head of Research and Centre of Excellence - Deafblind at Able Australia
Dr Meredith Prain is passionate about communication access and inclusion and fostering high quality interactions with people with complex communication needs. She currently works as the National Head of Research and Centre of Excellence – Deafblind with Able Australia, chairs the International Communication Rights Alliance, and is a board member of Deafblind Australia and Vice President of Deafblind International. Meredith has a severe vision impairment, and is a keen yogi and musician. - More speakers to be announced.
