Art Therapy (Archetypes) with Pia (Natimuk Wellness Project)
Event description
📍Location: ArapilesFlow Movement Studio, 117 Main Street, Natimuk (enter via Depot Lane)
Art Therapy provides an invitation to explore and express oneself through visual art, sometimes revealing deeper layers than we are able to access in word-state consciousness.
🌟 Theme: Explore the multitude of archetypes that exist within
Exploring archetypes gives us a chance to reflect on our responses to life, including our behaviour, thoughts and emotions. It can give us the possibility to either understand the archetypes we are embodying and how we may want to change or play with a different archetype to elicit a different response to life with another lens to look through.
For example we may embody a Caregiver archetype, this archetype often thinks and reflects on the needs of others, and empathises with others and is willing to put others needs before their own. There can be important times were this is valuable and may be needed, however if we stay stuck in this archetype, there may be needs and wants of our own that are being neglected and feelings of resentful or experiencing a sense of being drain may occur, or being taken advantage of.
Perhaps this same person could play with another archetype, and embody the Joker for awhile, what would that look like and feel like to live with playfulness, joy and light-heartedness, and less responsibility for others.
Each archetype will have it's benefits and it's pitfalls, so it can be great to tune into many, with awareness to adapt to the needs of the moment we can embody and wear different architypes to suit. It can be insightful and helpful to understand what ones we are drawn to most often and what ones we may feel critical of and perhaps curious as to why.
You are so welcomed to come and play with the different architypes that exist within, to better understand your own thoughts, behaviours and actions perhaps a little more.
My name is Pia, and I was brought up on the lands of muwinina people whose lives I acknowledge and their presence still felt, and the broader pakana and palawa communities that continue to offer and feed good spirit to Nipaluna and Lutruwita. I identify as a dynamic fay-like woman, who cultivates and practices compassion and a centred awareness that I am living with this earth and all other life forms, this gives me a sense of being grounded and supported. I offer spaces that hope to promote healing, love, and care, particularly to places within ourselves that need offerings of kindness in order to heal. My intention is to offer creative and awareness based practices that can bring about compassion-conscious-evolution, for oneself and the collective, to acknowledge pain and love, to turn toward truth with love and care. ~ Pia
