Understanding your nervous system : A Path to Greater Connection, Creativity & Response-ability
Event description
Understanding your nervous system : A Path to Greater Connection, Creativity & Wellbeing
In today's rapidly changing world, many of us are navigating heightened stress, uncertainty, and complexity—both in our personal lives and in the systems we engage with. These pressures can lead to burnout, disconnection, and reactive decision-making, making it harder to collaborate, create, and care for what matters most.
This interactive online workshop introduces Polyvagal Theory, a powerful framework for understanding and regulating your nervous system. By learning how your nervous system responds to stress and safety, you’ll gain practical techniques to cultivate resilience, enhance creativity, and strengthen relationships—at work and beyond.
At the heart of this work is enhancing our response-ability—our capacity to respond rather than react in each moment. When we work with our nervous system instead of against it, we create the conditions for greater choice, clarity, and adaptability, allowing us to meet challenges, relationships, and creative opportunities with more ease and presence.
Why This Matters
A regulated nervous system is foundational for:
✨ Creativity – the ability to imagine and innovate amidst uncertainty.
✨ Collaboration – the capacity to connect, co-regulate, and engage with others.
✨ Good decision-making – accessing clarity and wisdom rather than reacting from stress.
✨ Response-ability – our ability to respond rather than react to challenges.
✨ Sustaining our care – staying engaged with the world’s challenges without burning out.
This session is for leaders, creatives, facilitators, change-makers, and professionals who want to cultivate resilience, presence, and response-ability in the face of increasing complexity.
What You’ll Gain
✅ Understand the core states of your nervous system
Explore how your nervous system moves between connection (ventral vagal), fight/flight (sympathetic), and shutdown (dorsal vagal)—and why this matters for communication, collaboration, and wellbeing.
✅ Recognise your personal nervous system patterns
Identify your unique stress responses and develop self-awareness and self-compassion for how your nervous system navigates daily challenges.
✅ Practice simple, effective regulation techniques
Engage in interactive exercises that help shift your nervous system toward balance—practices you can use in real-time to support resilience, focus, and creativity.
✅ Enhance your response-ability
Learn how to work with your nervous system rather than against it, so you can respond intentionally instead of reacting from stress or overwhelm.
✅ Rethink self-care through a nervous system lens
Self-care isn’t just about relaxation—it’s about sustaining yourself in a way that helps you stay present, engaged, and effective without depleting yourself.
✅ Workbook with reflective somatic exercises
Receive a workbook with guided exercises to continue your learning and integration beyond the session.
