MAYI Festival – Healing Country & Community. MAYI means People/s in the Ngemba Language, the Country this festival will be held on.

MAYI festival has been planned specifically to construct, revitalise and bring the Bourke community an opportunity to participate in a positive – uplifting approach.

We will share our call for Healing Country and Community across the Far West of NSW.

Our purpose is to provide community with a week of workshops with renowned artists from all across this country as well as providing the local community with opportunities for future career, personal and cultural development through elevation of live Music, Arts & Culture in the region.

Throughout the festival, services from across the NSW state will be highlighting and promoting health and wellbeing. Attention to Health & Wellbeing will be a vital component of the MAYI Festival with Breast Screening services, GP Clinics, Nurses and Health Workers represented.

The festival will be host to Domestic and Family Violence Services, Alcohol and Drug Services, Community Mentor Groups (Women’s & Men’s) and Cultural/Spiritual Leaders of the 26 language groups from Bourke and surrounds.
