Event description

The performance Me and You Copy Paste quotes and stretches the ideological crises explored in Cushla Donaldson and Quentin Lind’s film Neighbourhood of Truth. The performance utilises storytelling and citation to deliver the psychosomatic unrest lurking within settler-colonial logic. Logic itself becomes a ferocious activity, disrupting the characters in distressing ways. The performance gives an account of colonised and coloniser dis-ease, disconnected from the body... with pending consequences looming in the air.

Me and You Copy Paste draws on the intentionally accessible Grand Guignol tradition, 'hot and cold' theatre and the presentation of disinformation, where abstractions are placed in juxtaposition to disrupt and illuminate each other. This 45 minute production is presented before a screening of Neighbourhood of Truth (45 min) (with an intermission between).

Me and You Copy Paste begins with a newly commissioned sound work by the acclaimed NYX electronic drone choir. The performance was devised and rehearsed collaboratively with actors Matthew Sunderland and Meg Sydenham, Quentin Lind and NYX Electronic Drone Choir. We greatly missed physicality, and this is the resulting work.

Please note sessions are limited to 20 people.
