Event description

We're extremely privileged to have Malagasy chef Nathalie Maholy Razafindrafidy and her commis chef Axel Curtet-Latreille from Tantalus Estate Restaurant accompanying us to the November destination on our plant-based tour of world cuisine - Madagascar!

Nathalie was born and raised in France to Malagasy parents. Inspired from an early age by her mother’s traditional cooking, she developed a deep appreciation for the flavours, generosity and cultural significance of food. She will bring forward the roots of Madagascar through a contemporary, plant-forward approach, honouring her heritage while showcasing it to new audiences.

Nathalie and Axel will be preparing a Malagasy Platter comprising:

Mofo Sakay/Anana; Watercress Fritters (Tantalus will be keeping these on the menu for the whole of November as part of their commitment to sustainability)

Achard de Legumes; Fermented vegetables

Fried spring rolls

Combined with the main dish of:

Bean Stew Malagasy with rice and Tomato Rougail - a rich, spicy condiment

and

Mofo Baolina, little ball-shaped doughnuts, for dessert.

Tantalus has been recently nominated for the International Luxlife Vegan Awards for their amazing plant-based offerings https://lux-life.digital/lux_awards/global-vegan-awards/

You are invited to arrive on time and dress colourfully to take part in the Afindrafindrao welcome dance.

There are a limited number of spaces for volunteers to assist Nathalie and Axel in preparing the food for the evening, starting at 1pm on Monday. Get in touch if you'd like to help.

See you in Madagascar!
