Take a trip to the islands with this May with Meat Free Mondays and our guest chef, Iki!
Iki has been in NZ for 19 years, 6 of those on Waiheke. She has worked in amazing restaurants in Auckland and Waiheke for 9 years now and just loves cooking. Her love of food started at a very young age back in Tonga with her grandma, mum and aunties always cooking up delicious island food from their tiny kitchen. Inspired by this, she has a very special menu planned for us:
Entree
Vegetarian Miti (ceviche) & Taro crisps
Main
Steamed taro leaves, black beans parcel & whole roasted kumara
Dessert
Tapioca, coconut dumplings & vanilla caramel sauce
We're so grateful to Iki for stepping in at the eleventh hour to share a taste of Tongan food and culture with us!
