Mechanisms in manual therapy

Every technique or treatment modality we use will produce a cascade of physiological effects.
Having a deep understanding of those effects, which we call mechanisms, will allow the practitioner to be able to make better informed and highly targeted decisions in clinical practice.
Many of the long held beliefs about what we do in the clinic room are out dated and unfortunately often just plain wrong. There is however an enormous amount of research based evidence that demonstrates that manual therapy produces many beneficial effects.
