Event description
🎉 MeckDec Jubilee: Celebrating 250 Years of Freedom! 🎉
📅 Friday, May 17 | 6:00 PM
📍 The Encounter Charlotte
Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket and join us for a powerful, family-friendly celebration as we mark the 250th anniversary of the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence—the bold stand that made our region the first in America to declare freedom from British rule!
🔥 MeckDec Jubilee is more than fireworks and fun (though there’ll be plenty of that!). It's a spirit-filled day of faith, freedom, and purpose as we remember the courage of the past and ignite hope for the future.
We're lighting up the evening with:
✨ Spectacular Fireworks
🎨 Face Painting for kids
🎯 Games for all ages
📸 Photo Booth fun - Capture the joy.
🌭 Hot Dog Meal – 100% of proceeds help rescue children from human trafficking
💖 Donations welcome – Every gift helps fight for freedom today!
Every dollar from food sales and donations goes to help rescue children from human trafficking—because we believe freedom is worth fighting for in every generation.
Note: Though The Encounter Charlotte is located in Cabarrus County, in 1775 this land was part of Mecklenburg, the birthplace of American independence. We're standing on historic ground where freedom was first sparked!
This isn’t just a celebration—it’s a mission. Bring your family, invite your friends, and be part of something powerful.
Freedom started here. Let’s keep it going.
