Media Diversity Australia Symposium 2026
Description
The Media Diversity Australia 2026 Symposium, themed ‘Truth, Trust, Tribalism’, explores the contemporary issues, challenges and opportunities shaping the Australian media landscape.
Hosted by the Western Sydney University School of Arts and Western Sydney Creative, in partnership with Media Diversity Australia, The Whitlam Institute and the Centre for Western Sydney, the Symposium brings together thought leaders, media professionals, academics, students and advocates for meaningful discussion about the future of Australian media.
This year, conversations will explore all the pressing issues that are on our minds as a collective - from the role of AI in media to the importance of a diverse and trusted media to democracy amid the rise of One Nation. The Symposium will also serve as a platform for leadership, enabling leaders and policymakers to better tackle the critical challenges of authentically embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion within the media. It will offer innovative and practical solutions to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing the sector.
The event is free with morning and afternoon tea supplied.
