    Event description

Do you want more people to know about your group's great work to protect the environment and climate? Navigating media communication can be a challenge for Landcare Groups and Environmental organisations in Victoria.

Many face the dilemma of wanting their stories heard by the community or policymakers but struggle with effective messaging. Additionally, when unexpected local issues attract media attention, groups may find themselves inundated with interview requests, leaving them uncertain about the best way to respond.

If you want to know how to talk to the media about climate and stay on track in interviews, our upcoming webinar is tailored just for you.

Join us for a FREE online session on Tuesday, February 27, at 5:30 PM, where Landcare Victoria Inc. collaborates with the Climate Media Centre to shed light on successful interview strategies. Learn from former journalists Jacqui Street and Emily Watkins about how they get the media to run stories on climate change and climate action.

    Key Topics Covered:

    • The significance of engaging with the media
    • What to say - the kind of messages that are cutting through right now
    • Decoding the media landscape: who they are and how they operate
    • Preparing for interviews and steering clear of potential pitfalls
    • Gain insights from other groups' experiences in media interactions

This webinar is specifically crafted for volunteer-led environmental groups and not-for-profits. Don't miss this chance to refine your media engagement skills, ensuring your vital environmental messages reach their intended audience.

Note: This webinar will be recorded and a copy is sent out to every registrant by default. So if you aren't able to watch the Webinar live at the scheduled time, you don't need to do anything - we'll send you a copy you can watch at your own pace.  The webinar will run for 1.5 hours and will include a Q & A session
