    Event description

    Child Life Therapist

    Virtual Medical MyTime with Kindred

    About this event

In this MyTime we will be joined by Janet Burke a Child Life Therapist from Sydney Children’s Hospital. We will explore what a Child Life Therapists is and how they might be able to support your child and family within the healthcare system. Find out what they do, how they help and how to get one.

Join this peer group discussion to ask questions, share your experiences navigating the healthcare system with your child or just to learn more about this great service.

This event is facilitated by Pam

Pam lives in Canberra with her husband Tom and their four children. Their nine-year-old son, Christopher, was born with Congenital Cytomegalovirus. They enjoy spending quality time together as a family, creating special memories and raising compassionate humans. Pam is passionate about empowering new mothers and carers to own their choices.

She is currently studying to become a qualified birth, postpartum, and end-of-life doula to work closely with and better support families facing difficult diagnoses in utero, neonatally, and beyond.

    Who is this event for?

Medical MyTime is for parents and carers who are navigating the health and medical systems with a child with disability, developmental delay or neurodivergence.

During a MyTime session, there is a guided discussion and a space to connect with other families. These discussions offer an opportunity for parents and caregivers to share and learn from each other.
