Medicine Buddha Puja - Nepal Disaster Fundraiser
Description
We welcome you to join Geshe Lobsang Dorjee & Geshe Jangchob from Tara Institute for a traditional Tibetan Buddhist Puja.
All funds raised through this Medicine Buddha Puja will be donated to the FPMT Emergency Relief Fund to support communities affected by the devastating floods in Nepal. Through the union of prayer, compassion, and generosity, we can offer both spiritual support and practical assistance to those facing loss and hardship. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help bring relief, recovery, and hope to those in need.
Severe flash floods and mudslides struck on August 26, 2026, along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers in the Rasuwa-Bhotekoshi border area of Nepal and Tibet, displacing thousands and destroying homes and infrastructure.
FPMT works directly with Kopan Monastery and Kopan Nunnery to deliver direct aid, food, and supplies to affected families, including those connected to Kopan's monks and nuns.
Additional donations can be made via the registrations page or on the day.
You are invited to bring your sacred and spiritual items to be blessed during the Medicine Buddha Puja. Statues, malas, prayer beads, prayer wheels, thangkas, Dharma books, blessed pills, amulets, and other cherished practice items may be placed on the blessing table to receive the blessings and healing energy of the practice.
May these blessed objects become a source of inspiration, protection, and support on the path to wisdom and compassion for the benefit of all beings.
At the conclusion of the Medicine Buddha Puja, there will be an opportunity to make a personal offering to the visiting Geshes. Offering to the Sangha is a traditional practice that creates merit and expresses gratitude for the precious teachings, prayers, and spiritual guidance they generously provide. Participation is entirely voluntary, and any offering, no matter the amount, is sincerely appreciated.
A massive thank you to our host The YURT Experience for providing the space and means for this fundraiser to be held as well as their generosity of having ALL FUNDS being donated to FPMT Emergency Relief Fund.
