Medicine Moccasin Journey
Event description
Come and join us for a day of ceremony, connection and creation. Craft your own pair of sacred leather shoes in this hands on day of fun.
Location: Creative Sanctuary in Nimbin, NSW.
We give thanks to the original custodians and ancestors of the land on which we gather and hold this ceremony. We pay our deepest respect’s to elders past, present and emerging.
In Moccasins we walk our way back to the earth. We honour the spirit of the animal as we walk back to the ways of our ancestors. We learn how to tread lightly upon Mother earth. We gain presence, grounding, balance and awareness.
• Have you ever wanted to know how to make yourself a pair of shoes with your own hands?
• Love being barefoot but have sensitive feet?
• Do you want to have your feet protected whilst remaining connected to the earth?
walking barefoot allows you to absorb the negative ions and life force energy of Mother Earth, activating natural anti-inflammation and relaxation to the nervous system.
These patterns have been perfected over 40 years originating from traditional Native American designs. The art has been passed down from Father to Daughter in honour of keeping his potowotami heritage alive. We are humbled to continue the legacy of the inspiring and self-taught ‘Moccasin Man’ also known as Jory Best, who through his own remembering weaves the dreaming of his ancestors ancient lineage and culture.
