Meditation dose: how much is enough and can you have too much of a good thing? with Dr. Sarah Strohmaier

In our next M3CS seminar, we’ll be joined by Dr. Sarah Strohmaier, a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) and mindfulness researcher at Victoria University Melbourne, Australia, and Partner Academic at the Monash Centre for Consciousness and Contemplative Studies. Sarah’s main research focus is dose-response and personalisation of mindfulness and meditation programs, examining what elements of programs and practices are most helpful and for whom.

In this conversation, we’ll explore Meditation Doses, how much is enough and if you can have too much of a good thing.

This seminar will explore:

  • What a Meditation Dose is

  • Can you overdo meditation?

  • What you optimal dose is

Exploring Meditation, Meaning and the Mind:

This free monthly webinar series offers a deep dive into the realm of contemplative wisdom. Every first Thursday of the month (AEST/AEDT) at lunchtime, immerse yourself in discussions with a diverse panel of thinkers, meditators, researchers, and individuals from various wisdom traditions, discussing topics like mindful parenting, burnout, morality, and the impacts of technology on attention. These sessions, guided by Professor Craig Hassed, conclude with an interactive Q&A, giving you a unique opportunity to engage with the panellists. This series is an open invitation to explore the profound impact of contemplative practices and bridge the gap between ancient wisdom and the complexities of modern living.
