Meditation and Yoga Breathing for beating stress and boosting performance
Event description
A wealth of recent research has shown just how interconnected mind and body are. Meditation and yoga-based breathing skills have had a huge upswing in popularity in the Western world in recent years.
In these sessions you can relax, recharge, enjoy the experience and develop your own practices.
A few different styles of meditation will be covered, so you can find one that is best for you, whether to just relax or to achieve specific goals. The sessions shall also cover how to use simple breathing techniques to manage mood and enter desired mental states, such as focusing attention for peak study performance.
The session will be led by Greg Smith from Counselling Support, Student Life. Greg is a psychologist, student counsellor and qualified yoga teacher with a long interest in both Eastern and Western approaches to health and wellbeing. The aim is for you to learn some simple practices that you can do in a few minutes to help manage stress, feel good and study effectively.
This session is eligible for the Adelaide Graduate Award.
