There are three important aspects of meditation: mindful attention, open awareness and loving kindness. By practicing these, we can let go of negative mental patterns, expand our heart and mind, bringing about joy, peace and inner freedom. Anam Thubten will guide participants in developing these aspects of meditation and share Buddhist wisdom on working with our thoughts and emotions.
Anam Thubten grew up in Tibet and began practicing at an early age in the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Among his most formative teachers were Lama Tsurlo, Khenpo Chopel, and Lama Garwang. His work draws deeply on the Dudjom Lingpa lineage. He is the founder and spiritual advisor of the Dharmata Foundation and the Kailash Fellowship, and a co-founder of the Wilderness Dharma Movement. He is the author of Voice of the Primordial Buddha: A Commentary on Dudjom Lingpa’s Sharp Vajra of Awareness Tantra, Into the Haunted Ground, No Self, No Problem, and The Citadel of Awareness. His most recent book is Releasing the Knot of the Mind: Instructions on Resting in Stillness and Awareness, published by Shambhala Publications.
