What to Expect
Join us with your friends and family for a Delicious 3 Course Indian Lunch Session with future CALD/ Multicultural Women Leaders of ACT sharing their election agenda, aspirations and personal journey to politics while practicing their own culture, community values and family responsibilities.
This event is open to all and MEN are particularly encouraged to join.
This interactive event will facilitate a platform for you to engage directly with these socially conscious passionate, talented and fearless WOMEN Candidates in a culturally safe environment, where you can ask questions, express your concerns, share your community needs and build connections with these Emerging ACT Leaders. This Lunch session will be an excellent occasion to interact directly with ACT’s culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) women, and community partners who collaborate with IWiN to ensure that all women and girls have equal opportunity to reach their full potential.
As part of the agenda for this MEET The Candidates session, we are focusing attention on the following important issues impacting our ACT women and families:
- Multiculturalism
- Domestic and Family violence
- Discrimination against women – racism, gender bias, non-recognition of overseas skills
- Health and Aging
- Mental Health
- Access to services – transport, health care, housing, employment and skills development
- Migration and support for new immigrants
