Description
‘Meet the editor’ chat – publishing in Current Anthropology Q&A
Catherine Frieman and Caroline E. Schuster are the joint Editors in Chief of Current Anthropology, the four-fields journal published by the University of Chicago Press for the Wenner-Gren Foundation. They are the first cross-disciplinary editorial team and the first women to helm the journal.
Join us for a Q&A with Caroline to learn about the process of preparing an article for the broad readership of CA, an overview of the different formats that we publish including the distinctive ‘major article with commentaries,’ and tips for approaching the submission and review stages. Learn about the editorial process behind the curtain and get an insider view – How do I chose keywords? Who should I suggest as reviewers? How do I decipher this decision letter? – addressing common questions and demystifying publishing. We welcome questions about the scope and vision for the journal, as well as broader discussion of the publishing landscape in global anthropology. Participants from archaeology and biological, cultural, and linguistic anthropology at all career stages welcome!
