Description
Helping North Queensland’s Community Organisations Navigate Compliance with Confidence
Volunteering North Queensland is pleased to invite charities, not-for-profit organisations, volunteer involving organisations and community groups to Meet the Regulators!
Developed in response to feedback gathered through Volunteering North Queensland’s Stronger Together regional consultation tour, this free event will bring practical compliance information directly to the organisations and volunteers who need it.
Across Regional, Rural and Remote Queensland, organisations have consistently told us they want clearer, practical guidance to help them understand their responsibilities and stay compliant. This roadshow is designed to help address that need.
What Will the Session Cover?
The session will provide practical information and guidance across key areas affecting charities, not-for-profits and community organisations, including:
· Understanding Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) obligations
· Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requirements for charities and not-for-profits
· Office of Fair Trading requirements
· Governance and compliance responsibilities
· Understanding the responsibilities of boards and management committees
· Identifying common compliance gaps and areas for improvement
· Knowing where to go for reliable information, guidance and support
Both sessions are intended to cover the same core information, allowing participants to choose the time that best suits their work and volunteering commitments.
The roadshow concept has been developed following discussions with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and the compliance needs identified by organisations participating in Volunteering North Queensland’s regional consultations.
Guest Speakers from agencies include the:
Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC)
Australian Taxation Office (ATO)
