Meet the South Ward Candidates!

The event will include a short Maylands Rotary intro, then each candidate will have 5 minutes to explain their vision and what they want to achieve for the community. The order will be determined by a ballot before the night. Then we will have a moderated Q&A in a panel style, followed by conviviality with pizzas and open bar. 

We will collect and vet the questions on the night as people arrive and mingle for the first half hour. We will eliminate any questions that we consider sexist, racist, homophobic, targeted against a particular Candidate or otherwise against our progressive values as a club. Our decisions on this aspect will be final. 

We are committed to a relaxed and safe environment for all candidates and guests. 

This event is common in Rotary - we are strictly non-political but part of our role is to facilitate community information and conversations on topical issues. 

Thank you to all the candidates for being people who are willing to put themselves forward. Without them, there is no democracy. Local people with vision are more important now than ever. Thank YOU who are attending the event, interested voters are the other side of the democracy coin, and equally important!
