--
On the opening day of our new exhibition Canberra vs The Government, join Wagga Wagga Art Gallery Director Dr Lee-Anne Hall in a conversation with three artists about the power of printmaking in activism and community. Artist and curator Alison Alder is a founding member and former director of Megalo Print Studio in Canberra. Clare Jackson is the current Director of Megalo and a master printmaker and Christina Reid is an accomplished Wagga printmaker who is also a member of Megalo. Lee-Anne Hall has worked in printmaking studios in SA and NSW including CoMedia and Garage Graphix. Celebrating 45 years, Megalo Print Studio started out producing screenprinted posters advertising community events and services, agitating for social change and championing political action. The studio offered classes to local residents and independent projects were developed aimed at improving social cohesion for different community groups within the Canberra community.
