    Event description

Ever wanted to make a zine by hand? Learn about the storied history of zine-making and the beauty of this analog form? Or perhaps you are an esteemed zine maker, keen to refine your skills!

Join Mia Rankin (Vertigo, UTS) and Max Easton as they talk about their zine-making journey and facilitate a hands-on workshop where you make your own zine.

    About Mia Rankin

Mia Rankin is a writer and maker of zines, creating on Gadigal land. Imbued with a love for 80s indie pop, a lot of their zines focus heavily on music and pop culture; however, they also aim to explore themes of mental health and everyday life in their work. Deeply influenced by the DIY ethos of movements such as the Dunedin sound as well as artists including Courtney Barnett and The Cleaners from Venus, the majority of Mia's zines are completely analog and drawn by hand. Their work has been exhibited in Milk Arts Night and numerous zine fairs. You can find them on Instagram at @miamakeszines.
