Event description

Join us for an unforgettable day at Gibbs Farm to raise funds for Melanoma New Zealand.  The celebrated Gibbs Farm is an expansive open-air sculpture park located in the beautiful Kaipara Harbour, north of Auckland. It is the greatest collection of large-scale outdoor sculptures in the country with works by some of the world’s most renowned artists, including Andy Goldsworthy, Anish Kapoor and Richard Serra.

Tickets are limited so be sure to get in early. All proceeds from ticket sales will directly support Melanoma New Zealand - the only charity in New Zealand solely championing the prevention, detection and treatment of melanoma for all New Zealanders.

What to bring:

  • Comfortable walking shoes – the paved walk is 6-7 km long with a few small hills; however, you can choose to do as much or as little of this as you please
  • Camera – photos are allowed
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a wide brimmed hat
  • Food & water - bring a picnic and a blanket and make a day of it... The Cow Shed will be on site offering drinks and food for sale (including vegan and gluten-free options)
  • Raincoat – this event will go ahead rain or shine!

Note: There are toilets available on site.

As an extra bonus, our experienced nurse educator will be on site at Gibbs Farm, providing free skin cancer spot checks on the day on a first come, first served basis.

SPECIAL RAFFLE – you can also grab yourself some raffle tickets to be in to win on the day! There are three chances to win 2 VIP tickets to your choice of any mainstage Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra concert in the 2024 season*. Each VIP ticket includes a Premier APO concert seat, entry to a pre-concert talk, and access to wine, food, and hosting on the balcony before the concert and during the interval. The three raffle draws will take place at 4pm on Friday 24 November 2023, and the winner will be notified by phone or email by 30 November. 1 x raffle ticket for $10 or 3 x raffle tickets for $20. All proceeds go to Melanoma New Zealand. Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity!

Our country has the worst rate of melanoma in the world. There are more than 6000 diagnoses of melanoma in New Zealand every year, and around 300 New Zealanders die of melanoma every year. Yet melanoma can be preventable, and if it is recognised and treated early enough, it is almost always curable.

Your support of Melanoma New Zealand at Gibbs Farm will help us to provide support and information to patients and their families, and to champion the prevention, early detection and treatment of melanoma in order to turn these terrible statistics around.
