Event description

In an era of unprecedented connectivity, loneliness looms large, affecting mental and physical wellbeing. Join for an evening with an expert panel as they discuss practical, community-focused solutions to help reconnect people and address the challenges of loneliness.

Hosted by Matilda Boseley, our expert panel will discuss the ever-evolving complexities of society’s silent and far-reaching loneliness epidemic. Hear from Dr. Chris Cheers, psychologist and author; Michelle Lim, University of Sydney Associate professor and CEO of Ending Loneliness Together; Rebecca Scott OAM, the 2024 Melburnian of the Year and co-founder of STREAT; Georgie Stone OAM, actress, 2023 Young Melburnian of the Year, and transgender rights advocate; and Jessie Wright, creator of the widely-followed ‘Dinner with 52 Strangers’ social experiment on TikTok.

Explore strategies to foster belonging, empower marginalised young people, and create a more compassionate, connected society. Don’t miss this chance to be part of the conversation on building stronger, more connected communities.

Light refreshments provided.

Melbourne Conversations is presented by City of Melbourne in partnership with Fed Square.
