Melbourne Conversations: The Knowledge the World Needs

As Australia confronts a mounting reckoning - with democracy, with the planet, with its own unresolved past - this event asks what it would mean to actually listen to Aboriginal knowledge systems. 

The Ebony Institute, in partnership with Dr Mary Graham and the Waijin Research Centre, joins Melbourne Conversations and Fed Square to bring you a rare in-person conversation with Kombumerri and Wakka Wakka Elder, scholar and national treasure Dr Aunty Mary Graham. Widely regarded as one of Australia's leading philosophers and political scientists, she has spent more than four decades shaping how this country understands democracy, relationality and what it means to grow up as a nation. 

Dr Aunty Mary Graham is joined by Ngarra Murray, former Co-Chair of the First Peoples' Assembly of Victoria (Gellung Warl), and four-time Walkley Award-winning journalist Lorena Allam - for a conversation about truth, justice and what Australia could become if it finally learned from those who've been here longest.
