This one-hour webinar is designed to give small retailers, real estate developers and policy makers the techniques they need for increasing shopper traffic and sales.

Bob Gibbs, professional planner, landscape architect and real estate advisor, will explore new American shopper and retailing trends, store design and visual merchandising techniques that can be applied for small to large businesses. The session will also touch on case studies for branding, colours, lighting, shopper movement, signage, and centre design. 

Martin Ginnane, Ginnane & Associates Principal, will present on the resurgence of Bricks and Mortar with the addition of the click’s component a must, as well as the cross-border shopper who will shop from Kmart to Luxury. He will also examine what the customer is looking for from retailers and how you can manoeuvre all of this and more in a constantly changing market.

Hosted by General Manager Business, Economy and Activation Ludo Campbell-Reid, hear from Robert Gibbs, Director of Gibbs Planning and lecturer at Harvard University, and Martin Ginnane from retail advisory company Ginnane and Associates, followed be a Q&A session.

About the Speakers

Robert Gibbs, FASLA, AICP

Robert Gibbs is considered a global authority on urban commercial centers and has been named one of the most influential urbanists of the past century. Gibbs is a professional planner, landscape architect and real estate advisor. Gibbs is Director of Gibbs Planning and has lectured at Harvard University for 25 years.

Gibbs is also a charter member of the Congress for the New Urbanism and has also been credited with developing one of the Great Ideas of the New Urbanism. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects and a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.

Gibbs has authored ten books and numerous articles including Principles of Urban Retail Planning and Development. Robert earned a master’s degree from the University of Michigan, as well as a bachelor’s and Doctor of Arts Honoris Causa from Oakland University.
