Melbourne Social Expeditions - Warburton Rail Trail - 2 Day 1 Night PRIVATE CAMPSITE Entry Level Camping Adventure - Easy/Moderate - 30km
Event description
ABOUT THIS EVENT
Join expert guide Adam for an incredible entry level expedition along the Warburton Trail designed for those who are wanting to become more confident in long-form multi-day trekking but don't know where to start.
The Warburton Rail Trail is a scenic, multi-purpose trail located in the Yarra Ranges region of Victoria, Australia. It follows the route of the former Warburton Railway Line, which operated from 1901 until its closure in 1965, with the trail itself running between Lilydale and Warburton (a charming town nestled in the foothills of the Yarra Valley).
The trail offers a peacefu journey through beautiful natural landscapes, including forests, rivers, and farmlands. It is popular with cyclists, walkers, and nature enthusiasts, providing a relatively easy and accessible route with gentle gradients, making it suitable for people of all fitness levels. Along the way, users can enjoy views of the Yarra River, picturesque bridges, historic stations, and abundant wildlife.
This trek has been designed for the entry level outdoor enthusiast looking to both get out of their comfort zone and to push themselves to become more confident in overnight trekking. The total distance covered across the 2 days will be approximately 30km with little to no elevation across the 2 days. You also don't need a high level of fitness however your feet will be sore by the end!
On the Saturday night we will be staying in a beautiful property in the Yarra Valley known as Summerhill Vineyard. A 32 Acre vineyard on a 120 acre property where we'll be able to walk amongst the vines in the evening (subject to the appropriate season), sit around the campfire (subject to the appropriate fire restrictions) and camp under a starlit sky on our own private campsite!
Any issues expert guide Adam will able to assist you along the way to help you on your journey.
Finally, as a participant you are expected to supply your own hiking/trekking gear which has been clearly outlined below.
