ABOUT THIS EVENT
Join Ads as we hike the INCREDIBLE Dandenong Ranges to a the beautiful Sky High and Kalorama lookout! The hike itself is a mixture of stunning dense forestry and challenging incline so be prepared to earn the views. This a great hike for anyone looking for something a little more challenging than our usual Social Walks so a moderate level of fitness is required.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Join us for a scenic walk through some of the most picturesque sections of Dandenong Ranges National Park. The route will lead us to the Kalorama Lookout, offering breath-taking views of the valley below, and continue on to Sky High for even more spectacular vistas. Afterward, you can treat yourself to a refreshing drink, coffee, or a delightful ice cream.
The park is teeming with native Australian wildlife, including kangaroos, wallabies, cockatoos, and kookaburras. On a fortunate day, you might even catch a glimpse of the elusive lyrebird.
This trek is of moderate difficulty so please be aware you need a reasonable level of fitness.
START TIME AND MEET LOCATION
Meeting Location: Montrose Community playground - Carpark out the front
Meeting Time: Arrive 9:30am for a strict 10:00am Departure.
Parking options: There is plenty of free parking at the meeting location.
NOTE: Arriving on time is critical to the Walk getting away on time. Participants not checked-in by 9:50am may be left behind.
CARPOOLING: Need help getting a lift to the hike, feel free to post in the Melbourne Social Walks Face
WHAT TO BRING
- Water (at least 2L)
- Snack food for the walk if necessary
- Money for the pub afterwards
WHAT TO WEAR
- Comfortable walking shoes (the track will be wet and muddy)
- Weather suitable clothing (check weather the night before)
- Hat or Beanie
FINISH
The Hike should take around 4.5 hours with small breaks in-between to enjoy some sightseeing, get photos and to do some animal spotting.
We will finish where we started where we can all head off to meat again for coffee at a local Mt Dandenong café or pub (venue TBA).
