WHAT TO EXPECT
The Merri Creek Trail Stretches over 21 kilometers in Melbourne's northern suburbs where it winds its way from the northern suburbs of Coburg down to the Yarra River in Abbotsford, connecting a variety of urban and natural landscapes.
The trail is known for its diverse environments, including wetlands, bushland, and parklands, making it a haven for wildlife and an ideal spot for birdwatching. Along the way, users can experience a mix of urban park spaces and more wilderness areas, providing a balance between city life and nature. It also passes through several local parks and near community hubs, making it accessible to both locals and visitors.
Cyclists, joggers, and walkers can enjoy the well-maintained path, which is relatively flat and suitable for all skill levels. For those interested in history and culture, the trail also offers glimpses of the region's indigenous heritage and industrial past, adding an educational aspect to the walking experience.
