WHAT TO EXPECT
A haven for waterbirds and walkers, Devilbend Natural Features Reserve includes the largest inland water body on the Mornington Peninsula. The lowland forest, reservoirs and shoreline provide valuable habitat and glistening scenery to enjoy hiking, fishing, photography, birdwatching and maybe even a little dip in the water!
The Reservoir Loop is a 12km loop which will have us right back where we started. There is only 200m of elevation on this trail and this trail is considered easy as well as great place for all level of hiking experience and fitness levels.
Once the hike is finished we will make our way to the Devilbend Farm Beer Co for a hard earn post hike beverage!
START TIME AND MEET LOCATION
Meeting Location: Devilbend Natural Reserve Parking Lot (159 Graydens Road, Moorooduc)
Meeting Time: Arrive 9:30am for a strict 9:50am Departure.
Parking options: There is plenty of free parking at the meeting location.
NOTE: Arriving on time is critical to the Walk getting away on time. Participants not checked-in by 9:50am may be left behind.
CARPOOLING: Need help getting a lift to the hike, feel free to post in the Melbourne Social Walks Facebook Group
WHAT TO BRING
- Water (at least 2L)
- Snack food for the hike
- Picnic Lunch
- Money for the Devilbend Farm Beer Co
WHAT TO WEAR
- Comfortable sturdy walking shoes
- Weather suitable clothing (check weather the night before)
- Hat or Beanie
- Optional towel and bathers (may got for a dip)
FINISH
The Hike should take around 3 - 4 hours with some small breaks to enjoy the scenery as well.
We will finish where we started where we can all head off to meet at a venue to enjoy a post hike beer.
