Melbourne Plus Community of Practice

Session 2: Student Skills x People Leadership

Being a leader is a highly-prized position in academic and professional contexts, but leaderships skills can come in many forms and are valuable beyond organisational structures. Join us for an engaging and interactive session that explores different representations of leadership across student and staff spaces, and how those skills can be further developed.

Our second Melbourne Plus Community of Practice for 2024 will feature a showcase of People Leadership activities, followed by a collaborative workshop and discussion.

  • In the showcase, students and staff will share their experiences in a range of co-curricular activities that build skills in People Leadership, including the FEIT Student Leadership Development program, the International Study Buddy Program, and the MU Sporting Club.
  • In the workshop, students and staff will participate in a dynamic and engaging training session designed to explore and enhance leadership skills. This session will offer perspectives, practical insights, and an introduction to an actionable collaborative tool for effective leadership.

Workshop facilitator: 

Celine Goh: As Student Leadership Trainer for the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, Celine’s work focuses on fostering personal and professional growth and practical skills empowerment. She crafts purposeful, tailored training initiatives and plans to deliver sessions that resonate deeply with her students, drawing on over 15 years of multi-faceted experience within the higher education and broader industry landscape.
