We warmly invite you to join us at the Meli Foster a Future Breakfast.
This is our second fundraising event for our annual foster care appeal, Foster a Future, which runs throughout the month of September. It is also an opportunity to show appreciation for our wonderful Foster Carers.
Attendees will enjoy a seated breakfast, barista-made coffee, and inspiring guest speakers (see bios below).
Tickets can be purchased individually or as tables of 10. We hope to see you there!
Keynote speaker: Kate Langbroek
Kate is one of Australia’s most beloved and unique media personalities. Her ferocious wit, playfulness and irreverence have made her an audience favourite in a career that has spanned prime time television, top-rating breakfast and drivetime radio, acting, scriptwriting and journalism.
Most recently, Kate has released her brand-new podcast ‘The Buck Up, Kate Langbroek with Nath Valvo’, debuting at #4 in Apple Podcast’s top comedy shows in its first week.
Earlier in the year, Kate was announced as the Summer Series host of Mamamia podcast ‘No Filter’, with this being the first - and only - time regular host Mia Freedman has handed over the reins for a season, citing Kate as one of the most talented, instinctive, and disarming interviewers in the country. Bringing her unique and widely loved interview style and humour to the top ranked podcast, Kate conducted an exclusive season of interviews with guests from all walks of life. Across the season, listeners consistently left 5-star reviews.
In a world that yearns for authenticity, Kate has it in spades, and we cannot wait to hear her speak to the topic of "Those who dare to dream, and those who dare to DO."
MC: Myf Warhurst
We are thrilled to have the wonderful Myf return as our MC for the second time.
Myf grew up in regional Victoria where, she recalls, she spent countless hours in pursuit of pop music and trash TV as a child. At age 17, she moved to Melbourne to study Music education at Melbourne University and later a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in fine art and art curatorial studies.
Myf has worked in and around the music/arts/entertainment industry almost since she arrived in Melbourne, having worked as a music and arts journalist before being introduced to radio as the showbiz reporter on Merrick and Rosso’s Triple J Drive show in 1999. Subsequent gigs on NOVA, Triple J and Triple M saw her popularity rise but her biggest claim to fame has been as team “captain” on the ABC’s weekly quiz show Spicks and Specks which attracted about one million Australian viewers and has recently returned to our screens.
With one of the most recognisable voices in Australian entertainment, Myf lends her voice to the popular ABC Kids show Bluey as Aunt Trixie. She also co-hosts the popular podcast Bang On with Zan Rowe.
