    Event description

    MEMENTO MORI - DEATH MUSEUM

The Memento Mori Death Museum will be back again at the Oz Para Expo, at the atmospheric Old Parramatta Gaol!

The travelling museum features True Crime Author and Serial Killer Whisperer Amanda Howard’s astounding, private collection of correspondence with killers from across the globe as well as artwork, rare photographs, crime scene photographs, original announcements, Victorian Post Mortem photographs, freak animal taxidermy, and so much more! This collection comes from blood, sweat and tears, and has been built over a hundred years, from different generations of Amanda's family.

Since the last time we hosted this brilliant museum, Amanda has increased her exhibits and has many new things to present! We cannot wait to see it!

As you enter the museum at Old Parramatta Gaol, you will be bombarded with the strange and unusual, the macabre and fascinating and each area of the museum will feature an entirely unique space dedicated to a death related topic, such as executions, crime scenes and historical artefacts. This is the perfecting setting for the Death Museum, as Parramatta Gaol is truly one of the most foreboding and terrifying buildings that you will ever see, with a past so gruesome, and well-known killers who were locked up behind its walls.

The Memento Mori experience is largely a self-guided tour lasting approximately 45 minutes to an hour, however those who can stomach it may stay as long as they like, as there are hundreds of items on display.

There is no age limit for the Death Museum because death affects us all, however we STRONGLY recommend that much of the material is for MATURE AUDIENCES! Some content within the exhibits may be too graphic or explicit for children, and no children will be allowed in without a parent being present.

You can purchase tickets to the Death Museum on the day, at the entrance of the Museum, for $25. It is better value for money for you to prepurchase as entry into the Oz Para Expo
is included in this fee. Please show your Death Museum ticket upon entry to the event and KEEP your ticket to be shown to the entrance of the Death Museum. Once you have finished viewing the exhibit you can then wander around the gaol, check out the stall holders and maybe even get your fortune told.
