Memoir Writers
Description
Be part of a small group of committed writers meeting weekly, starting out on a journey to document stories and unique experiences. Your goal may be short reminiscences destined for the bottom drawer; stories for the benefit of your children and the next generation; or maybe something even more ambitious, a project for publication.
Each week, your convenor sets a topic and members of the group share excerpts from their work, all in the relaxed and safe environment of Kingston Writers Centre. You’ll be part of a confidential group, meeting in a respectful and supportive environment.
Your Convenor is local author Geraldine Colson, memoir writer, obsessive journal keeper and sometime poet.
The group meets weekly during term time.

Geri Colson
Geri's graduate qualifications are in Social Work and Counselling. After retirement, she published a memoir about a family member whose life had been extremely difficult, but whose story she felt sure would resonate with others. Geri has led writing groups at Bayside and Kingston, and believes that many of us yearn to tell our stories, we want to learn more about what constitutes a memoir, and we are searching for ways to gain confidence in expressing our own unique points of view.
