Event description

Presented by Canberra by Bike and Pedal Power ACT. We recommend buying Pedal Power membership and insurance (starts at $12/month), or please sign our waiver on the day.

This tour requires a minimum of four guests. We'll refund your ticket if the tour doesn't proceed.

Learn all about the memorials along Anzac Parade and the northern shoreline of Lake Burley Griffin on this stop-start guided slow ride. Discover who made and designed them, and why.

We'll stop at memorials to various wars, structures that honour the people who served in them in various ways, and also see memorials to police services, emergency services, workers, and those affected by Thalidomide.

We'll meet at the Playing Fields Cafe at 33 Allara St, Civic and finish at the Thalidomide memorial on Wendouree Drive, and then we'll stop for lunch at the On Lake Cafe, Bowen Park. This tour will not visit the Australian War Memorial, but does include many of the memorials which line Anzac Parade.

There are toilets at the halfway point in Commonwealth Park, and also at the end.

NOTE: This ride features a gentle incline up Anzac Parade, where there is rough, loose gravel in front of several memorials. Our route will be mostly on wide paths.
