Event description

Bring an object or a clothing item that matters to you and join exhibiting artist Amanda Maciel Antunes for a slow, accessible walk around the museum that encourages connection during these challenging times. You will be invited to walk in pairs with another participant and share a memory with each other. At the end of the walk you will be invited to write down the memory that you learned from your walking collaborator and to stitch a word of your choice or a short poem onto your objects together. We’ll end our memory walk in a pop-up courtyard labyrinth that encourages introspection. Free, registration recommended, all ages welcome.

About the route: We’ll start at the museum and walk through the Tar Pits, stopping every 20 minutes to be seated. The terrain is flat, wide and paved. A map of the walking route will be provided at the front desk at Craft Contemporary should you arrive late.

In the case of rain, the memory walk will be a contemplative in-gallery walk with Amanda Maciel Antunes as our guide.
