Menarche To Menopause: An empowering journey into the cycles of your life
Red Tent Aotearoa
Event description
Do you remember the first time you saw your blood?
Was it positive?
Were you excited?
- Or -
Did you feel shame and embarrassment?
Who did you tell?
What did they say?
What if you could rewrite the story and reclaim your Menarche (first occurrence of menstruation) as a powerful liberating moment, & use it to take a proud step into womanhood?
What if you could understand that there is so much wisdom in your WOMB (Wisdom Of My Body) and it's just a matter of looking within to see how incredible your cycle is?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Are you approaching Menopause with trepidation and resistance?
Have you heard stories of "The Change" that are less than appealing?
Are you dreading the symptoms associated with Menopause?
Are you filled with fear and questions?
How would it be if there was another way to look at the future?
A way that gives you a sense of power, optimism and ideas that question the mainstream information?
It's time to let go of what you may have heard, letting go of the fear.
This will be a day of warmth, friendship and connection.
Join Alice from Celebration Day for Girls Christchurch and Jill from Red Tent Aotearoa for this full day transformational Rite of Passage and Informational presentation.
The intention of this presentation is to remove the stigma and negativity that is often attached to our Moon Time and Menopause.
We will redefine "That Time Of The Month" & "The Change"
~You will leave this full- day workshop looking at your moon time in a whole new light.
~In fact, you may even have a few laughs and make some new friends!
~This circle is for women who are bleeding or cycling without bleeding (we still cycle even after hysterectomies) and those approaching, or in perimenopause.
~We will be learning about our cycles, so that we can plan and perform to our optimum energy levels.
~We will focus on reclaiming the power of the divine feminine through meditation, a drum journey and sharing circles. We will access the ancestral line of our Red Thread.
~The morning's journey will take us back to Menarche (/mɛˈnɑːki/) so we can rewrite the story and reclaim our birthright.
~The afternoon's session will be about the perimenopausal transition and offer an opportunity to know more of what to expect, where to find resources, and how to get support.
~This day will be an inclusive space to be informed on perimenopause and menopause, to share information, stories and laughs and ask questions.
~You will leave better informed about what perimenopause is, what the journey entails, and feeling more connected.
This day WILL NOT be about individual problem solving, as it's not one-on-one therapy.
This day WILL BE information sharing to empower you on your journey.
We want to provide you with an experience that society isn’t providing.
You will leave with fresh eyes, feeling supported and resourced by like-minded women.
Come and be immersed in wholistic knowledge and feel supported in camaraderie.
This event will be held at a stunning and unique location in Tai Tapu.
The address will be emailed out to ticket holders the day before the event.
A beautiful gluten-free vegan gourmet lunch is included with your ticket.
Your presenters:
Alice Tabak
Following the success of her Girls' workshops "Celebration Day for Girls" (CDG), Alice saw the need for something similar for the elder females. “Often the mums' sessions always ended up in Perimenopause discussions.”
So just like the CDG, this programme aims to enlighten, empower and educate the participant through an interactive facilitated group session with comradery and discussion.
Alice is also certified in Menstrual Literacy (Red School, UK), Intimacy Direction Best Practices for Minors (TIE, USA) and Teen Mentorship (Shine from Within, Australia).
She has had extensive employment history and experience in aged care, public service and group facilitation for youths and adults.
