5:00pm Work Your Mends, Chat with Nicole, CFF Creators & Fellow Menders
This visible mending workshop will be led by upcycle designer, Nicole, from Elsie’s Attic.
Bring some scrap fabric to work on and a notebook. However, Nicole will bring some extra fabric to work your mends in case anyone forgets.
A little bit about your teacher, Nicole and her brand, Elsie’s Attic. Consciously created in Omaha, NE, Elsie’s Attic is a sustainable fashion line combining vintage linens, upcycled garments and a lot of love.
Named after Nicole’s great-grandmother and creative muse, Elsie’s Attic provides an intentionally curated alternative to the overproduction narrative of the fashion industry. Nicole creates one-of-a-kind statements crafted from discarded, damaged and otherwise unwanted linens, textiles and existing garments.
“Circular economy is about more than just recycling. It's about keeping products in their useful form for as long as possible.” – Amanda Forster, Scientist and Author
